WHY THE NAME CHANGE?
Well. I’ve been trying to figure out what exactly this Substack is, what unifies all the disparate posts I’ve made over the last six months. Speaking to my friend Ed, he said, “I think it’s frustration.”
I can’t argue with that. And if I'm being honest, a lot of my frustration feels a little hopeless…Feels a little…Situation Nowhere.
"Situation Nowhere" originates from a misheard lyric from a Big Audio Dynamite song called “Rush.” The words are actually “situation no win.”
A misheard lyric. A nonsense phrase that conveys frustration and hopelessness.
Yeah. That sounds about right.
While I hope my writing contains some hope from time to time, I also have to acknowledge my sweet spot.
In other words,
Welcome to SITUATION NOWHERE.

I like it! A pretty relatable feeling. "It's the hope that kills you."
